Processing
Extensive experience with heavy oil process design which includes the following:
- Pressurized and Atmospheric Treating Systems – Simulation, Design and Troubleshooting
- Battery Layout and Piping Systems
- Sizing and Design of Treater and FWKO Vessels

- Heaters and heat exchangers
- Forced and natural draft burner systems
Mechanical
Design
Empress also offers design of the following equipment (among others), mainly targeting fabricators and commercial clients:
- Horizontal and Vertical Tanks (ULC and API)
- Shop Equipment including Jib Cranes, Stands etc.
- ASME Vessels and piping (including repairs)
- Small to medium structural steel (including skids, pipe supports, stands etc.) Ladders, platforms and miscellaneous steel

We tend to have a hands-on, practical approach. If the scope is well defined, we can often provide firm pricing if the client prefers.
Our Experience
Our experience includes the sizing and design of literally hundreds of tanks, vessels and their associated systems, as well as countless steel structures and assemblies. Also developed patents CA2570719C and US20080135227A1 for the use of forced draft burners in oilfield applications
